RESEARCH

NTT Access Network Service Systems Laboratories are engaged in the R&D of access networks, which link customers to NTT central offices.
With three research centers Tsukuba Research and Development Center, Yokosuka Research and Development Center, and Musashino Research and Development Center the Laboratories tackle a variety of R&D on access networks spanning five areas of access network technology.
NTT Access Network Service Systems Laboratories are supporting the world’s communications infrastructure through world-leading R&D of the most advanced field technologies.
Besides conducting highly valuable academic R&D, such as achieving world’s best results and creating completely original technologies, the Laboratories are also carrying out international standardization activities for their created technologies.
By developing practical applications of these technologies, the Laboratories are supporting communications infrastructure technologies around the world, including those of the NTT Group, and providing concrete value to all people.

Interference Assessment Software

In a wireless system with a limited resource of frequency spectrum, frequency sharing between operators is required. When an operator wants to build a new wireless system, it has to negotiate coexistence conditions with other operators that have existing wireless systems. To support NTT operating companies, we have developed “Interference Assessment Software”. This software makes it possible to easily perform interference calculations and determine whether a level of interference is acceptable, without the need for wireless knowledge and work experience on the part of the user.
